The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) today launched the inaugural Brunei Week in Singapore to raise awareness of Brunei’s growing retail channels for local businesses exporting to the city-state.
Brunei Week, running from September 5-7 at Mak Besar’s Grand Market in the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, features 20 Brunei businesses presenting food and beverage, fashion, lifestyle and craft products, alongside travel promotions and experiences in the Sultanate.
Brunei’s High Commissioner to Singapore Her Excellency Hjh Noor Qamar Hj Sulaiman, who officiated the launch, welcomed BEDB’s efforts to expand market access for Brunei MSMEs in Singapore.
BEDB’s facilitation of local products entering Singapore began in 2023 through a partnership with Mustafa Centre, followed by retail distribution through Meat Aliyah Rizq in Woodlands earlier this year, and an upcoming e-commerce platform with distributor Lim Siang Huat, called Flavours of Brunei.
Twelve Bruneian MSMEs are now actively in one or more of these retail channels, with BEDB continuing to identify and prepare more businesses for export while developing new avenues to reach Singaporean consumers.

“This dedicated platform (Flavours of Brunei) will showcase a variety of Bruneian products online, making them more accessible to Singaporean consumers and to wider markets overseas,” said H.E. Hjh Noor Qamar.
“The Brunei Week showcase also serves as an avenue for strengthening awareness of Brunei’s heritage and potential, as well as enhancing the business-to-business and people-to-people connections that underpin our bilateral relations.”
Meanwhile, BEDB’s Deputy Director of Enterprise Development (DARe) Lim Hang Ping encouraged participating businesses to connect with customers and partners for further market validation.
DARe has been supporting local producers by providing training, space, financing and relationship management to access to markets both locally and overseas.
Initiatives such as Bruneian Made — which has its own store at The Mall and dedicated shelf space in major supermarkets nationwide — have provided businesses avenues to test and build capacity locally before graduating to export, including through Singapore channels.

The Bruneian brands at Brunei Week are Modessa, Skinny Meal, Taurean Bakeshop & Cafe, Kommunihub Co, PDS Abattoir, Syarikat Rizqussalam, RR Catiosmith, Mantap, Brunei Halal, Royal Brunei Culinary, A. Ayam Berjaya, Afiya Susu Kambing, Sabli Food Industries, Volco Venture, Teaspoon F&B Services, Angkasa Oud Agarwood Company, Marimin, M2Victoria, Bajoo Fashion House, and Royal Brunei Airlines.
