Three Brunei companies recently showcased their local products across the border at Sarawak’s Minggu Perusahaan Mikro, Kecil dan Sederhana (MSME Week) held at the Coco Cabana in Miri from June 21 to 25, 2023.
Sabli Food Industries (B) Sdn Bhd exhibited their line of canned food, cordials, teas, and sauces; ORI Sdn Bhd brought their bottled flavoured water, while Rayhan.Oud Company showcased their car fragrances, body perfume, and homemade diffusers.
The participation of the Brunei businesses was facilitated by Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) in collaboration with the Consulate General of Brunei Darussalam in Kuching, Sarawak, at the invitation of SME Corporation Malaysia – who jointly organised the event with the Ministry of International Trade & Industry, Industrial Terminal & Entrepreneur Development Sarawak.
During the event, the attending Brunei businesses and DARe representatives had the opportunity to meet with potential distributors and buyers from both East and West Malaysia to explore opportunities for local products to access the Malaysian market.
Founder of Rayhan.Oud Company Abdul Hafiz Hj Suhaimi said the event helped provide a better understanding of market sentiments, including obtaining quality feedback on flavour profiles, product pricing and packaging from potential distributors and buyers.
DARe continues to work on helping local businesses expand their markets inside and outside Brunei by connecting them with opportunities and help build up their capacity.
