Brunei’s only ride hailing service Dart has partnered with Aziz Latif Company (ALC) to offer ride sharing services to the public in Belait.
The “Share Ride” collaboration is a three month pilot project which sees ALC providing their pool of professional drivers and vehicles for rides booked for Belait on Dart’s mobile platform.
ALC is Brunei Shell Petroleum’s (BSP) contracted fleet management and internal transport provider. ALC drivers will be available from 6am on the app everyday.
In a press statement, BSP said that they were supporting the partnership between the two local companies under their In-Country Value initiative.
BSP In-Country Value Manager Hjh Rosita Hj Hassan said Share Ride will help in both meeting the transportation needs and the socioeconomic development of the Belait community.
“Over time, we hope to see more drivers which will also generate more employment opportunities for our locals,” she said.
Meanwhile BSP’s Deputy Managing Director and Technical Director Yap Kong Fah said ALC’s fleet will continue to provide high safety standards with drivers that are trained and vehicles that are well-maintained.
“Safety is our number one priority. The cars are in excellent conditions and the drivers from ALC are well-trained. We rely on our drivers to continue upholding the importance of road safety and set a good example for other drivers ensuring that everyone goes home safely,” he said.
The Dart mobile app can be downloaded from Google Play store or the App store.
