Over 800 jobs at Recruitment Fair

More than 60 companies participating this July 16 to 18 at The Airport Mall; majority of positions in oil and gas

Over 800 vacancies for Bruneians to work in the private sector will be offered this weekend at the Manpower Planning and Employment Council’s (MPEC) latest Recruitment Fair at The Airport Mall.

The vacancies are being offered by more than 60 Brunei-based companies in oil and gas, construction, retail, accommodation, finance, food and beverage (F&B), and IT. Positions include finance executives, administration staff, retail assistants, kitchen staff, engineers, scaffolders, and sales and marketing assistants.

The Recruitment Fair runs from 2.30pm to 6pm on Friday and 10am to 6pm from Saturday to Sunday. Free shuttle buses will also be transporting visitors between the parking lot of the Mohd Bolkiah mosque in Serusop and The Airport Mall during this period.

The largest vacancies are in the oil and gas sector with over 700 openings; including Adinin Works & Engineering who are offering over 400 positions, Wood Plc with 159 positions, Serikandi Oilfield Services with 101 positions, and Mashhor Offshore Painting and General Contractor with 66 positions.

The F&B sector also has over 150 vacancies with the largest vacancies under Excapade with 66, Aminah Arif with 45, and KFC with 44. Under retail, Sim Kim Huat is offering 145 spots while hardware-based Trillion Company has 40 openings.

Security services also have sizeable openings: AEGIS Secure Solutions is looking to fill 81 positions while Sphere Secure Services has 60 openings. The expanding Muara Port Company is also offering 41 positions.

Walk-in interviews by select companies will be conducted on Friday 2.30pm to 5.30pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 12pm and again from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

MPEC and JobCentre Brunei will also be sharing their upskilling and reskilling programmes including Skillsplus, SPIN, Continuing Education and Training (CET), and iReady along with the latest information on what jobs will be in demand over the next five years.

There will also be sharing sessions by business owners and company representatives speaking about their professional experience working in different sectors.
